The Sorcerer Scourge Book 5 of The Sorcerer Path edition by Brock Deskins Literature Fiction eBooks

King Jarvin is in exile and his only hope is for Azerick and his wizard friends, along with a small army out of North Haven, to ride to the rescue. But the traitor and his vastly superior forces are not the greatest threat to the kingdom. Far to the north, a lich of extraordinary power has been gathering dark energy for years and is nearly ready to release it upon the living. Back home, Azerick's apprentice finds herself in so much trouble she may single-handedly reignite the war between Valaria and their southern neighbor.

Although this book is listed as being part of the Sorcerer's Path series, it is more about forwarding the plot line of the series than about Azerick himself. This will disappoint some readers due to the lack of emphasis on the world's main protagonist. If, however, you look past that and see the rest of the story, it is a great boon to the universe as a whole. There is heavy foreshadowing in this story about what will come in the near future of the series. The emphasis on other key figures of this world in this novel helps bring the whole together in the next few books.
The development of the other characters was well done and I can now relate to them on a more personal level. Plus the author threw in a couple of sneekers just to keep us on our toes. One them was HUGE. I never saw it coming. The pacing in the book was a bit rushed as Mr. Deskins packed a great deal of development in this tale. This novel could have been expanded and split into two novels but that would have aggravated the issue of Azerick being a bit player instead of a major figure.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend the series as well as this particular novel to fans of high fantasy. Just remember that this isn't all about the main protagonist and you should enjoy it just fine.

The Sorcerer Scourge Book 5 of The Sorcerer Path edition by Brock Deskins Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Good fantasy series with good character development. I enjoy the user of the various races and skills they possess. Looking forward to the next one
The troubles that haunt our hero are catastrophic. With each one solved, New more complicated problems appear. The author has put together an impressive array of action and adventure. Magic and mystery with fantasy and warfare woven together to make a fantastic series. Number six is next.
*Minor Spoilers*
Azerick is back to reluctantly save the kingdom for a King that is too nice for his own good. Our noble hating, emotionally stunted sorcerer undertakes this quest not out of a sense of patriotism, but for the same reason all men do stuff they dont want to do. Because girlfriends tell them to or else..
Most of our favorite characters make a come back to play their parts to prevent something very horrible from happening in the North. Nobody knows what the threat is and the gods are being annoyingly vague about it. There was one character by the name of Landrin that was so clique due to certain recent teen romance novels, that I had a moment of dread creep on me. It left me thinking "Please Brock DeSkins, you wouldnt do this to me. I trusted you". But my trust was well placed and the character didn't walk down the path of teenage angst and self loathing. Also, Azerick's 11 year old apprentice is showing her preteen authority issues that lead her to a very uncomfortable understanding of why Azerick is the way he is. Kind of hard to discipline a brat child when she can turn you into a pig or burn the base down.
If you have made it this far into the series, then you will enjoy reading this book.
I read the series up to this point but will not finish this one. It is a heavy-handed socialist lecture with a protagonist who is so taken up with class warfare that he simply comes across as a jerk. The protagonist, who has earned a fortune the old-fashioned way, but dropping a rock on a dragon and "inheriting" its hoard, uses it to help the proletariat while verbally abusing anyone who inherited their wealth from humans. Yuk.
Book 5 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot and characters are put together well. Some of the information given has a purpose but, otherwise is not very important or needed for explanation.
Amazing Fantasy Story with all the elements you expect
Amazing story with all the elements you expect in a great fantasy book. Loads of magic, fantasy races, and battles to keep you reading. The story has enough twists and turns to keep me guessing. A must read for the fantasy lover, it reminds me of a World of Warcraft story in a book. I also love the fact that characters die and none not even the main characters are safe from death. All 8 books are 5 star. Book 1-4 is comes as a set to save you individual purchases, and these books can also be borrowed if your a Prime member. One of the best stories of all time. Don't miss it.
I really like(d) this series and will have to see it through the end (I hope), but even fantasy has to have plots you can believe and trust. Allowing a prepubescent girl that frequently makes mistakes have access to the mother of all magic sources is ludicrous. Not just one of the wisest and most senior mages but apparently every adult that should have a lick of sense caves in so she can keep herself occupied and not fall into despair. Maybe I should have ended that sentence with a(?). I get the parallel with her mentor but sometimes you have to wonder what happened to the fantastic creativity the author displayed through this point in the series. I know I harped about this one point and that seems to suggest an even worse rating, but there are just as many continuing and improving plot lines to maintain a decent review.
